If you are facing the problem of developing a fixed study pattern or maintaining a regular study habit, then the Pomodoro Technique is the best-proven technique for you.
Pomodoro Technique was started in the early 90s by Francesco Cirillo who used to use a tomato-shaped kitchen timer to pay attention for straight 25 minutes. He created a habit of setting the timer for 25 minutes and studied during this time duration without getting distracted. Since Pomodoro is Italian for tomato, the technique came to be known as the Pomodoro Technique.
How does the method work?
Choose a task and determine that you will be giving it your full attention.
Set a timer for 25 minutes. Keep your digital devices at an unreachable distance so that you don’t get distracted.
Concentrate on the task till the alarm rings. Even if you have finished the task and the timer didn’t ring, keep your concentration on it only.
When the timer rings, tick on the task and keep the paper aside.Take a 5 minute break. Drink a glass of water to keep yourself hydrated. You can stretch or walk around during this break.
After every 4 Pomodoros, take a longer break. Keep at least a 25-30 minute break. This will help in rejuvenating your energy and help you concentrate better.
Pomodoro Technique has built up a significant concentration level in students. Reports have shown that students who used the Pomodoro Technique for their exam preparation scored better than the ones who used the traditional way of dragging their concentration.
Try this method and enjoy the benefits. This technique works miracles for me, especially during hectic days.
Have a procrastination-free day ahead!
